One day your life will flash before your eyes. Make sure it's worth watching.

If I had to create a bumper sticker that modeled my philosphy for life, it would be: "One day your life will flash before your eyes. Make sure it's worth watching."

Life is busy. That's for sure. If we don’t take the time to enjoy it, to look around at what’s truly important- family and friends, love and affection, it’s possible to miss what really makes a life worth living. I look at each day as a gift, not a right. Life isn’t a promise, it is in no way, shape or form guaranteed and the scary reality is that at any given moment it can be taken from us. While we must make our living through education and hard work, it’s vital to make the best of it, to look for the positive in everything, to make each day count. One day, hopefully far in the future, our lives will flash before our eyes. It’s important we give ourselves something meaningful and enriching to watch.

  3. So true, everyone (including me) at some point focuses too much on school or work and they don't see their lives passing them by. This is a really good quote that everyone should remember.

  4. This reminds me of the quote from the movie Ferris Bueller's Day Off. The line says "Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it".

  6. A different perspective on the Bumper sticker that Bryce wrote "Everything happens for a reason" (Which I just finished reading).

But "any who" onto the comment. That is a great way to live life, to the moment and grateful. I believe that is what I am interpreting, and i take this into my life. That is why I am fascinated with the wild, it is all by the moment and awesome. So yerp, that made some sense.. maybe.

  7. Our lives are our own personal movie, with its ups and downs and unexpected twists. We want to effective manage our time here so near of the of this film reel we are on, we earn that 5 star rating. Indeed make it worthwhile... =]

  8. Ashleigh, your post is a powerful reminder of just how delicate life is. I like the idea of refocusing our attention on the important things in life. I think you do a good job of encouraging people not to take any single day for granted. Rock on!
